Casualfood launches new transport catering concept with Levante - first location opens at Mainz Central Station
Middle East soul cuisine for train stations and airports: with the new Levante concept, Casualfood is expanding its range of transport catering with trendy Middle Eastern cuisine. The first outlet serving Levantine cuisine has now opened at Mainz Central Station. Under the motto "Spice up your day", Levante focuses on the variety of culinary highlights from the Arabian Peninsula, from mezze to makali, from falafel to shawarma. A promising concept, as it meets all the expectations of today's guests: healthy, varied, sustainable and delicious, with lots of vegetables and little meat, often vegetarian or vegan, but always freshly prepared on site. The authentic taste is provided by the variety of spices from the Orient, which is also signaled by the beautifully shaped star anise in the Levante logo.
The Levante concept includes an uncomplicated all-day menu. All dishes, from breakfast to classics such as hummus and baba ganoush to crunchy oriental bowls or shawarma, can not only be eaten on the spot, but also ordered to take away. Those in a hurry will find a large selection of prepared dishes in the display case - "grab & go" is the motto here. The target group therefore includes not only rail travelers, but also local residents and people who work at the station and in the offices and stores in the surrounding area.
The new F&B concept is as colorful, young, lively and vibrant as the souks and street food markets of the trendy cities in the Middle East. The high-quality furnishings with earthy, warm colors are reminiscent of the typical spices, complemented by fresh green and stylish design elements. Natural materials such as larch wood, marble, terrazzo and clay are used. An ambience that, like Levantine cuisine, is a symbiosis of tradition and modernity.
The two managing directors of casualfood GmbH, Michael Schorm and Andreas Förster, are convinced by their new concept: "Levante complements our portfolio perfectly. The soul food from the Middle East is not only on trend, it also offers a huge selection of popular dishes that can be served and taken away just as quickly and easily as we need them for transport catering," explains Andreas Förster.
With Levante, Casualfood has opened its first outlet at Mainz Central Station. "The location is ideal for introducing the new concept. We have a small indoor area here and an outdoor terrace right on the station square," adds Michael Schorm. "Basically, however, the concept is so flexible that we can adapt it to all possible locations, from pure takeaway to full service." Casualfood is currently in talks with several landlords about rolling out the format at other locations.
