Foreword Dear readers, we are now entering the third round of the Casualfood Sustainability Report and we are delighted that we have once again made good progress on our sustainable journey. Our sustainability team has continued to grow, enabling us to achieve our goals even better and faster. We have been able to make progress on many climate-sensitive topics and are thinking sustainably from the ground up when developing new concepts, from the content to the product range and the construction method to the interior design. We have gained a number of new and committed employees, meaning that we now have a contact person from each area available to answer questions at the monthly jour fixe. The Casualfood sustainability strategy is based on three strong pillars: PEOPLE, PLANET, PRODUCTS. The first pillar, PEOPLE, focuses on our employees. We want to continue to secure attractive jobs for them and create new ones in the future. We take human rights, diversity and equal opportunities as well as occupational health and safety very seriously. The second pillar, PLANET, is about our contribution to climate protection and other important environmental issues. Here, it is primarily the reduction of food waste and the increase in sustainable packaging that we want to constantly optimize. The third pillar, PRODUCTS, deals critically and consciously with our contribution to the topics of nutrition, sustainable products and supply chains as well as responsible marketing. Our own sustainability brand POP - Protect Our Planet, which is already deeply rooted in our DNA, proves that we not only talk about sustainability, but also live it passionately. It runs like a green thread through the entire appearance of our brand concepts. In the Casualfood Sustainability Report 2023, our ambassador, the hard-working Casualbee, also provides entertaining information about our smaller and larger successes and gives insights into her life as a bee. The Casualfood journey continues sustainably, please get in and start reading... 4
